Workshops for reprogramming of Regional Artemisinin-resistance Initiative (RAI) grants for 2016 were held in Laos (29 February–4 March), Thailand (7–8 March), Vietnam (10–11 March), Cambodia (14–18 March) and in Myanmar (21–25 March).

The workshop participants were members of the National Programmes, Co-PRs, Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs), donors, private sector, civil society representatives and technical bodies including the World Health Organization, local and international NGO sub-recipients from the five Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) RAI countries, together with UNOPS-PR’s RAI team.

The workshops provided a platform for all key stakeholders to participate in interactive discussions, identify savings from previous implementing periods and reprogramme the budget, performance framework (PF), quantification and forecasting of health products (attachment B) for 2016 in order to achieve maximum budget absorption and targets. The activities for 2017 were costed in line with 2016 approved original budget based on guidance from GF.

New activities and SRs were identified for 2016 and 2017 in line with National Strategic Plan (NSP) and Technical Strategic Group (TSG) recommendations. All RAI grant documents (PF with quarterly target, detailed annual budget, attachment B) were successfully finalized.
