RAI2E partners in Lao PDR attended training on topics related to data management, analysis and visualization. The training was organized by UNOPS-PR and aimed to support efficient data management for more effective RAI2E programme implementation.

UNOPS-PR is providing management support for RAI2E programme implementation. As part of these efforts, UNOPS-PR organized training on ‘Fundamental data management, data analysis and visualization’ for its RAI2E partners in Lao PDR: the Project Management Unit - Ministry of Health (MoH), Health Poverty Action (HPA), Lao Positive Health Association (Lao-PHA) and Population Education and Development Association (PEDA). The training took place on 22-23 May 2019 in Vientiane.

The training covered a wide range of topics related to data management, including basic excel functions, use of appropriate chart and interpretation, fundamentals of data analysis and  creation and use of excel dashboard.

The 10 participants in the training got hands-on practice to improve their data management skills. UNOPS-PR carried out pre-and post-testing at the beginning and end of the two-day training so that future data management trainings can be improved based on findings and feedback from the participants.

The significant increase in all participants’ post-test scores compared to pre-test scores in the training evaluation confirms the effectiveness of the training.

The participants took very active interest in the hands-on exercises and presentation used in the training. They plan to apply the knowledge and skills they gained to support efficient data management in their day-to-day RAI2E programme implementation.

UNOPS is the Principal Recipient for the RAI2E grant for the five Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) countries, including Lao PDR.
